Paddy and the Rats ist eine ungarische Celtic-Punk-Band.[1]
Bandgeschichte
Die Band wurde 2008 von den Singer-Songwriter Paddy O’Reilly, dem Bassisten Vince Murphy und dem Gitarristen Joey MacOnkay gegründet. Es schlossen sich der Schlagzeuger Seamus Connelly, der Akkordeonist Sonny Sullivan und Sam McKenzie an. Im Frühling 2012 verliess Sonny Sullivan die Band und wurde durch Bernie Bellamy ersetzt.[2] Das Debütalbum "Rats on Board" wurde am 1. September 2009 über Alexandra Records veröffentlicht.[3] Am 14. April 2011 folgte das zweite Album "Hymns for Bastards" und am 18. Januar 2013 das dritte Album "Tales From The Docks". 2015 folgte das Album "Lonely Heart's Boulevard" und 2017 das Album "Riot City Outlaws". Am 18. August 2018 trat Paddy and the Rats beim 15. Feuertal-Festival in Wuppertal auf.
Paddy and the Rats hatten in sechs Jahren mehr als 400 Auftritte und nahmen an Festivals u. a. in Deutschland, Italien, Frankreich, Ungarn, Schweden, Dänemark, Österreich, Ukraine und Russland teil.[2]
